CLMS Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) Global 300m 10-daily v3 (COG)

NDVI is an indicator of the greenness of the biomes. Every 10-days estimates are available in near real time at global scale in the spatial resolution of about 300 m from January 2014 to the present.

Useful for

Use cases llm-inferred
Multi-year NDVI baseline for vegetation greenness at a site or catchment for ecological baseline reporting · Seasonal NDVI time series for land-cover or vegetation context in drainage and flood risk assessments · Screening NDVI for vegetation condition using the uncertainty and quality flag bands before use in analysis
Audience llm-inferred
ecologists · GIS analysts · environmental consultants · hydrologists

Limitations

Constraints docs-verified
Pixels above 55°N are class 252 'unknown' (NOBS=0, BRDF priors interpolated) · Special values 252 (unknown), 253 (snow), 254 (water) and 255 (missing) occupy NDVI pixel values and must be handled in analysis · BRDF priors may be gap filled by linear interpolation (qflag bit 7) · Licence is 'other'; use is governed by the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service data policy · Assets reference OIDC authentication; CREODIAS S3 storage is requester-pays
