GSNI GeoIndex Water

Tellus Water Tellus Drainage The drainage dataset contains stream waters and stream sediment analysis and are a combination of two surveys. The first, the G-Base survey, was carried out between 1994 and 1996 in the west of Northern Ireland. In 2005 and 2006 a second survey was carried out as part of the Tellus project in the areas not covered by the original survey. Stream waters The G-Base samples (1994-1996) were analysed for the following anions and fluid parameters: Bicarbonate, Chloride, Fl

Useful for

Use cases llm-inferred
Baseline stream water chemistry (pH, conductivity, nitrate, sulphate) for water quality screening of Northern Ireland catchments · Background trace-element levels (e.g. Zn, Pb, Cu) for contaminated land or mining-legacy screening · Regional geochemical context for surface water and groundwater baseline reporting
Audience llm-inferred
hydrologists · environmental consultants · geochemists · contaminated land specialists

Limitations

Constraints llm-inferred
Data are from 1994-1996 and 2005-2006 surveys, not current monitoring · Coverage is Northern Ireland only · Reuse requires BGS/NERC permission for reproduction or transmission · BGS and NERC give no warranty as to accuracy or suitability for any use · Sample density and spatial resolution are not stated in the docs · Dataset only; no API or tool access
