Risk of Flooding from Surface Water - Climate Change 1

Risk of Flooding from Surface Water (RoFSW) map is an assessment of where surface water flooding may occur when rainwater does not drain away through the normal drainage systems or soak into the ground, but lies on or flows over the ground instead. It is produced using national scale modelling and enhanced with compatible, locally produced modelling from lead local flood authorities (LLFAs). The RoFSW datasets include information about flooding extents, depths, speed and hazards. This dataset sh

Useful for

Use cases llm-inferred
surface water flood screening of development sites in England, including extent and depth thresholds for FRA and drainage constraints · 2050s climate-change sensitivity check of site layouts and drainage strategies against surface water flood depths · GIS constraint mapping for early masterplanning and site selection
Audience llm-inferred
flood consultants · drainage engineers · civils engineers · planners · GIS analysts

Limitations

Constraints docs-verified
probabilistic product showing overall risk, not a specific event or scenario · contains extents and depths only; speed and hazard layers are not in this dataset · climate change allowance is the 'Central' 2050s (2040-2060) allowance only · preview only at certain zoom levels; WMS set to the 1:50 000 scale range
