UKCP09: Gridded Data - Daily Data Mean temperature – Average of Max and Min Temperature (°C)

ukcp09-Gridded datasets based on surface observations have been generated for a range of climatic variables. The primary purpose of this data resource is to encourage and facilitate research into climate change impacts and adaptation. The datasets cover the UK at 5 × 5 km resolution and span the period 1914–2006. They are available for daily, monthly and annual timescales, as well as long-term averages for the 1961–1990 climate baseline period. Baseline averages are also available at 25 × 25 km

Useful for

Use cases llm-inferred
Historical daily temperature baseline for climate change impact assessments in FRA or drainage/SuDS design reports · Temperature inputs for evaporation or water-quality modelling where a long-term UK record is needed · Long-term climate context (1914–2006) for ecological or habitat baseline reporting
Audience llm-inferred
climate change risk consultants · hydrologists · environmental consultants · planners

Limitations

Constraints llm-inferred
Series ends in 2006, so no recent observations are included · Registration with the Met Office is needed to access the data · Baseline averages are also offered at 25 × 25 km and as regional values, not only at 5 × 5 km
