Useful for

Use cases llm-inferred: National-level desk-study overview of bedrock and superficial geology for early-stage site appraisal · Regional geological context layers for catchment-scale flood or water-resources reports · Teaching or presentation base map showing UK geology at national scale
Audience llm-inferred: geotechnical engineers · hydrologists · hydrogeologists · GIS analysts · planners · geoscience teachers

Limitations

Constraints llm-inferred: Generalised 1:625 000 scale, intended for national-level use rather than site-specific detail · Bedrock themes generalised from 1:50 000 data; superficial themes digitised from a 1977 Quaternary map, so may be out of date locally · Work continues to upgrade the dataset; finer-scale BGS Geology 50K or 10K datasets are needed for local studies
