What's in it
- Data offered docs-verified
- soil moisture from on-field tensiometers and volumetric sensors (field_sensor_data, 23k rows) · water content at ground_offset -80 to -10 (units not stated in docs) · irrigation records (irrigation_data, 4.33k rows) · historical weather (historical_weather_data, 143k rows) and weather observations (weather_data, 1.46k rows) · forecasted weather (forecasted_weather_data, 142k rows) · satellite-derived vegetation indices (remote_sensing_data, 44.1k rows) · static soil type and crop characterisation (soil_type_data, 116 rows; locations_ids, 142 rows)
- Coverage docs-verified
- Trentino, Italy (anonymised agricultural area) · 2023-01-03 to 2025-08-25 (result_time range shown for field_sensor_data)
- Resolution llm-inferred
- Temporal: daily-stamped records with gaps (inferred from viewer preview); spatial: not stated
- Formats docs-verified
- parquet
- Access docs-verified
- Hugging Face dataset; licence cc-by-nc-nd-4.0 (non-commercial, no derivatives); no authentication in entry metadata
Useful for
- Use cases llm-inferred
- Benchmarking soil moisture models against in-situ tensiometer and volumetric readings (academic or non-commercial research only) · Exploring soil moisture response to irrigation and weather as analogue data for water balance research · Comparing satellite vegetation indices with in-situ soil moisture for remote sensing method development
- Audience llm-inferred
- hydrologists · data scientists and ML engineers · agronomists and irrigation researchers
Limitations
- Constraints llm-inferred
- Licence cc-by-nc-nd-4.0 prohibits commercial use and derivatives, so it is unsuitable for paid consultancy deliverables without permission · Docs describe a single anonymised agricultural area in Trentino, Italy, which conflicts with the entry's Global region and gives no UK coverage · Description is truncated in the docs, so full scope is not confirmed · Spatial resolution and update frequency are not stated · Viewer preview shows gaps in daily dates (e.g. 2023-09-22 to 2023-10-26), so the series is not continuous · Units for soil moisture values and ground_offset are not stated in the docs
