TellusSW airborne geophysical data (OGC WxS INSPIRE)
The TellusSW project acquired airborne geophysical data for the counties of Cornwall and parts of Devon and Somerset during the second half of 2013. The maps of the geophysical data and their derivatives are provided to facilitate spatial comparison with, and modelling of, the soil, geological and environmental aspects of the data. The survey comprised a high resolution magnetic/magnetic gradient survey combined with a multichannel (256 channel) radiometric survey. The survey was carried out usi

Useful for
- Use cases llm-inferred
- Desk-study comparison of magnetic and radiometric anomalies against BGS geology and soils for Cornwall/Devon/Somerset sites · Radiometric context for radon or natural-ground screening in ground investigation reports · Regional geophysical baseline for contaminated land or mineral-related due diligence
- Audience llm-inferred
- geotechnical engineers · engineering geologists · contaminated land consultants · GIS analysts
Limitations
- Constraints llm-inferred
- Coverage limited to Cornwall and parts of Devon and Somerset; not England-wide · 200 m line spacing is coarse for site-scale work · Survey dates from 2013, so it may not reflect current ground conditions · Metadata lists monthly update frequency and a 2012-07-11 creation date, both inconsistent with a one-off 2013 survey; verify before citing · Copyright restricts reproduction without BGS permission · NERC/BGS gives no warranty on accuracy or suitability
